Deepika Padukone scared of snakes

While shooting for the second issue ofHarper's Bazaar in Thailand, Deepika Padukone found snakes in quite close proximity. Talking about the snake attack, an ophidiophobicDeepika says, "I have always had a phobia about snakes. I don't mind anything from lizards to insects, but I am terrified of snakes. We were given these fancy villas in the middle of a forest at a resort called The Banyan Tree. I was relaxing outside my room at night when I happened to look down near my feet and saw a huge snake, almost three feet long with it's hood raised, staring at me!"

Deepika shudders and says, "It was THE scariest moment of my life. I jumped and screamed loudly. My mom was in her room and came out to see all the commotion was about but by that time the snake had slithered away."

But Deepika prefers to cite the incident as a positive one. She says, "In India, we worship snakes and I feel the fact that I actually saw one was a blessing for me. How many people encounter snakes in real life? It's a very good sign.

It was a privilege shooting for Harper's Bazaar India's second edition. Atul Kasbekar shot some great pictures in Thailand. We'd shoot only in the evenings during sunset so we call it a spa shoot. We would relax through out the day at the spas in our hotel. I took my mum along and spent quality time with her. It was more a holiday than work."

Deepika is always ready for a good cause. Last week, she walked the ramp in a Carolina Herrera dress for Mai Mumbai at the LFW a show put up by Vikram Chatwal and Naomi Campbell to raise funds for the 26/11 victims of the terror attacks.

Deepika says, "I walked the ramp at the last minute as I had to fly to Bangalore for the Bengaluru Marathon press conference. But since it was for the cause Mai Mumbai, I stayed back. The funds are going for 26/11 victims and provide infrastructure like ambulances and first aid so I had to be there. It was a good cause and Mumbai has given me so much."

Aishwarya Rai refuse No make-up look for Ravaana

The worst nightmare of a beautiful lady is to wake up one fine day and find herself old and haggard. Same goes for gorgeous Aishwarya Rai, who is becoming insecure with age and time. Few years back, the lady ruled supremely and was admired for her flawless beauty. But now she needs her powder and rouge to look beautiful. Recently, the lady had a face-off with director Mani Ratnam over her make-up.

According to sources, director Mani Ratnam asked Aishwarya to put no make-up for her look in the second half of the film ‘Raavan’. But Mrs Jr Bachchanrefused to do so. The no make-up look was in accordance to the demand of the story, wherein, Abhishek’s character abducts her and Ash`s character undergoes a major transformation.

A source told to a news daily, "Mani wants to showcase her character without make-up in the second half. He believes that since she`s separated from her husband, the raw look is important to express the loss and pain she`s going through."

But what the Bachchan bahu would do is to sneak-out and return with basic make-up. "There were times when Ash would sneak and put basic make-up and only then, do the shot. Mani would spot the slightest sliver of make-up and would ask her to go back and remove it," said the source.

The source further said that neither Aishwarya nor Mani Ratnam would back out on this issue. Aishwarya believed that basic make-up will not make much of a difference but Mani Ratnam did not agree.

Evidently, Aishwarya does not want to appear onscreen without make-up as more than her acting skills, her age would show.

‘We’re not splitting’: Hrithik

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan has rubbished reports of his having split with wife Suzanne saying that he is having “a picnic” with her and his kids.

A leading Mumbai tabloid reported that Hrithik and Suzanne have parted ways when she had moved to her parents’ house. “It’s too funny! Yes, Suzanne shifted to her parents’ place with the kids two days ago and I was to join her on my return as there is a white ant treatment going on in my house and a section of my floor is being renovated.

I’m with Suzanne right now having a picnic with my wife, kids and in-laws,” said Roshan Junior. It was allegedly reported that that trouble began to brew in their paradise after Roshan started becoming cosy with his Kites co-star, Mexican actress Barbara Mori. But none of this is true.

Deepika Padukone: Not insecure

A lovely bouquet of flowers was recently presented to Ranbir Kapoor in front of Deepika Padukone. Interestingly, the bouquet was from a secret admirer who even proposed marriage in the greeting card that came with it.

And girlfriend Deepika, instead of getting suspicious simply laughed it off. A source said: “The duo burst out laughing as Ranbir’s secret admirer expressed her desire to marry him. It shows Deepika is not insecure, possessive or jealous.” Well, we’re sure Deepika must be getting her share of flowers, too. If not, Ranbir can send her some... After all this is one ‘budding’ romance!

Mugdha was flying high

Mugdha Godse -- the promising newcomer from Fashion seems to be highly inspired by “realistic” filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar. The actress wanted her drunk-scene from Jail to look convincing; so she actually consumed a bottle of champagne for a song sequence.

“For a song in Jail where Neil offers champagne to Mugdha, Mugdha insisted that actual champagne be poured into the glass. Madhur wanted to get the scene right and went for multiple retakes.

As a result Mugdha ended up consuming champagne sufficient enough to make her pleasantly tipsy,” we were informed. Of course the unit had reason enough to laugh their hearts out, but Mugdha was flying high and wouldn’t allow anyone to dampen her ‘spirit’.
